Pretty Cards for the Teacher We Adored

These beautiful cards were typical of the ones we brought to school for our teacher to show our appreciation for all her hard work and to let her know how much we loved her. They cost all of a nickel, or in some cases, two for a nickel, and were adorned with ribbons, flowers, especially roses, hearts, and lace. Some were sprinkled with glitter or had a fuzzy texture to the heart. Can you remember standing in the drug store looking the display over and over trying to choose the prettiest one?
